Women who have had gestational diabetes are 10 times more likely to develop diabetes than women who didn’t have gestational diabetes.
WAG covers practical advice for healthy eating and ways to increase your physical activity to help you reduce this risk.
The program covers:
Session 1 – Understanding your diabetes risk and what you can do to prevent diabetes
Session 2 – Healthy eating to prevent diabetes
Session 3 – Physical activity for busy mums
Session 4 – Preparing quick healthy meals
Session 5 – Managing stress and staying motivated
After the program we check in with you periodically over 12 months, to help you make permanent lifestyle changes.
To do WAG Online you will need to complete an e-consent and survey. This is a requirement of the Department of Health and Human Services which funds the WAG program. You will be directed to these after you enrol and need to complete them before you can access the WAG Online course.
You will have access to course for 8 weeks, to allow you to work your way through the sessions. You will need to complete the previous session to be able to move forward to the following session, that is, if you haven’t completed session 1, you won’t be able to access session 2.
